The Ekselans CM 8S 2CI-2TC transmodulator converts satellite television services into two RF channels configurable as DVB-T or DVB-C. This allows programmes to be distributed over the coaxial network and tuned directly by conventional television sets, without installing an individual satellite receiver in every room or dwelling.
It features two satellite inputs and eight tuners compatible with DVB-S, DVB-S2 and DVB-S2X Multistream. Its dual Common Interface reader supports suitable CAM modules for the received service, while remultiplexing enables programmes to be selected and organised in professional television headends. It is particularly suitable for satellite transmodulation systems in hotels, hospitals, care homes and large residential communities.
The module operates within the Ekselans CM modular headend system and supports 13/18 V LNB power, 22 kHz tone, DiSEqC A/B/C/D and Unicable SatCR/dCSS distribution. It is suitable for new headends, extensions and compatible replacements in hotels, hospitals, care homes and large residential communities. It is neither a domestic receiver nor a universal replacement module.
Its two flexible RF output channels, configurable as COFDM DVB-T or QAM DVB-C, enable a selection of satellite services to be distributed using only two multiplexes on the communal network. This simplifies integration into communal distribution systems that can be tested using professional field strength meters. Programming via CM Management and the local or remote management options simplify system commissioning and maintenance, including projects requiring CAM modules.
